FLUORIDE TOOTHPASTE TABLETS
Check the ppm.
Then choose.
Toothpaste tablets can contain fluoride too. The useful number is the fluoride concentration on the product, not whether the toothpaste comes as a tablet or a paste.
For most adults, NHS advice is to use toothpaste containing at least 1,350 ppm fluoride.

WHAT THE NUMBER MEANS
PPM is the fluoride concentration.
Parts per million tells you how much fluoride is present in the formulation.
- 1
Check the product
Look for the fluoride concentration rather than assuming every fluoride toothpaste has the same strength.
- 2
Compare with guidance
NHS guidance says adults should use toothpaste containing at least 1,350 ppm fluoride.
- 3
Brush properly
Brush twice daily, spit out excess toothpaste and avoid rinsing immediately with water.
Tablet format does not change the fluoride number.
The current mint-with-fluoride Toothtabs formulation is listed at 1,450 ppm — within the standard 1,350–1,500 ppm adult range used in UK oral-health guidance.
MINT AND STRAWBERRY ARE DIFFERENT
Flavour is not the whole decision.
The current DENTTABS ingredient information lists mint with fluoride at 1,450 ppm and strawberry with fluoride at 550 ppm.
That means the strawberry fluoride version is not simply the mint formulation with a different flavour. Check the current variant and label before buying.

THE ADULT GUIDANCE
1,350+ ppm
For most adults, that is the number to remember.
NHS guidance says adults should use toothpaste containing at least 1,350 ppm fluoride. UK prevention guidance gives a standard range of 1,350–1,500 ppm for adults.

THE EVIDENCE BIT
Do not invent benefits just because it is a tablet.
UK government prevention guidance describes toothpaste tablets as an emerging equivalent format and notes that evidence specifically about their effectiveness is limited or absent.
The sensible reason to choose the 1,450 ppm mint option is therefore straightforward: it supplies fluoride within the standard UK adult concentration range in a format you may prefer.
Children need age-appropriate guidance.
Do not use the adult figures above to decide what is appropriate for a child. Follow the current product directions and NHS or dental-professional guidance for the child’s age and needs.
CHOOSE THE FORMULATION FIRST
Mint or strawberry. Fluoride or fluoride-free.
Check the ppm, choose the flavour and fluoride option that suits your needs, then choose a tin or refill format.
