COOKIES & SITE SETTINGS
Cookie Policy
A straightforward explanation of the browser storage used by Toothtabs.co.uk and the choices available to you.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser when you use a website. Some are needed for a website or requested feature to work properly. Others can be used for things such as analytics or remembering preferences.
Our approach
Toothtabs.co.uk is deliberately a small information site. We aim to use the minimum browser storage reasonably needed to run it. We do not use our consent system for advertising or behavioural tracking.
Necessary cookies and storage
Necessary storage may be used for website security, administrator sessions, technical operation and remembering your cookie choice. These functions may operate without optional consent where they are necessary for the requested service or site operation.
Your cookie choice
Where optional analytics is available, the Toothtabs cookie control gives you two clear choices: Allow analytics or Necessary only. Optional analytics remains off unless you choose to allow it.
You can reopen your choice at any time using the Cookie settings control on the website.
Toothtabs consent storage
Our own consent system stores the preference under the name toothtabs_cookie_consent. It records your choice and the applicable consent-policy version so the site does not repeatedly ask the same question.
The system may also retain a randomly generated anonymous consent ID when anonymous consent records are enabled. Those records can contain the consent ID, the choice made, the policy version, the website hostname and the date and time of the choice. They do not contain your IP address, user-agent string or a browser fingerprint.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 may be used to understand broad website usage, such as which pages are useful and where the site could work better.
The Google Analytics script must remain absent until you choose to allow analytics. If you choose Necessary only, optional analytics remains disabled. If you later withdraw analytics permission, the consent system disables analytics storage and removes the standard Google Analytics cookies it can identify.
Analytics on this site is not intended for advertising or behavioural profiling. Advertising storage, ad-user-data signals and ad-personalisation signals are kept denied by the consent system.
Advertising and behavioural tracking
Toothtabs.co.uk does not currently use its cookie-consent system for advertising or behavioural tracking. If that changes materially in future, this policy and the consent choices must be updated before the new tracking is introduced.
Links to other websites
This site links to other websites, including Save Some Green, Smiley Starfish, NHS and GOV.UK pages. A normal link does not make those external sites part of Toothtabs.co.uk. When you follow a link, the destination site’s own privacy and cookie practices apply.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use the permanent Cookie settings control to reopen your privacy choices. You can allow analytics or return to Necessary only at any time.
You can also remove or block cookies through your browser settings, although blocking necessary storage can sometimes affect website functions.
Personal information
For more detail about personal information, website logs and your data-protection rights, see our Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, the technologies it uses or relevant privacy requirements change. If a material change requires a fresh consent choice, the consent-policy version can be changed so visitors are asked again.
